Personal Information: In 1997, my family and I moved to Brisbane. I have been married to my wife Hanifa for the past 25 years. We have two beautiful children, a daughter Shaheen and son Hashim.
Education: Graduate of UC Davis with Masters degrees in Civil and Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Career: My professional career expands over 30 years in geotechnical engineering, ecology, environmental reviews, transportation studies, Federal and State standard development, fire and rail safety. For the past 27 years, I have worked for the State of California, overseeing the safety of transit systems and major class 1 railroads. I have had the privilege of serving on numerous technical committees which have included transportation and fire safety at the state and federal level.
Community Service: Community service in Brisbane includes membership in the Brisbane Lions Club; past chairman and member of the Brisbane Planning Commission since 1999 and Planning Commission representative on the Brisbane Open Space and Ecology Committee.
